x86-based SoC have been used in embedded computing designs for years. Many of them are no longer available or are very close to the end of their product life. Not all is lost, however designer have a new option with “Vortex86SX” CPU that can replace those processors and help ship products well from 2007 to 2016.

DM&P Semiconductor is proud to provide the Vortex86SX 32-Bit Microprocessor, which is based on x86 structure. It is the x86 SoC (System on Chip) with 0.13 micron process and ultra low power consumption design (less than 1 watt).This comprehensive SoC has been integrated many features, such as various I/O (RS-232, Parallel, USB and GPIO), BIOS,WatchDog Timer, Power Management, MTBF counter, LoC (LAN on Chip),JTAG etc., into a BGA packing single chip.

The Vortex86SX is a high performance and fully static 32-bit x86 processor, which is compatible with DOS and Linux. It integrates 32KB write through direct map L1 cache, PCI Rev. 2.1 32-bit bus interface at 33 MHz, SDRAM, DDR2, ROM controller, IPC (Internal Peripheral Controllers with DMA and interrupt timer/counter included), Fast Ethernet MAC, FIFO UART, USB2.0 Host and IDE controller into a System-on-Chip (SoC) design.

Furthermore, this outstanding Vortex86SX SoC can not only meet the requirements of embedded applications, such as Industrial Control, Transportation, Automation Control, Gaming Machine, Vehicle Tracker, Thin Client, POS Terminal, Thin Server, Printer Server, Network Devices, etc. but also can meet the critical temperature demand, spanning from -40°c to +85°c

Design Concept of Single-Board-Computer

To meet the harsh industrial standard, ICOP’s SBC products are all based on the following advanced design concepts:

The manufacture’s default Quick Boot BIOS allows the system to be booted (Power-On-Self-Test) within 3 seconds.This hassle free design has made the 486 system more efficient than ever.

For the harsh industrial application, power consumption plays a critical part.ICOP provides the lowest consumption solution in all serial embedded boards, which could be as low as +5V@200mA.

With the intelligence PCB layout design and the lowest power consumption components, ICOP provides customers with solutions of Fanless and Heatsink-free design.

For user-friendly concerns, ICOP products are in support of DSock (DOS TCP/IP) WinCE.NET and Linux.Users can choose any of the preferences for their own applications.
